The best way to help the environment is to buy good quality items and keep them forever. Louis Vuitton items last the test of time - both asthetically and practically. It is much better for the enirnoment to buy items which last years instead of just one fashion season.
Buying expensive items makes one look after the piece to a higher degree. I am always more carfeul with an expensive item than a mass produced Chinese product. Naturally the more expensive item will still get damaged, scratched and marked. These however are character marks which give a piece history.
An example of this is buying a low cost, low quality suitcase and only getting a few uses out of it before you need to disgard it and buy a replacement item. Buying a more expensive, better quality suitcase to start with has less of an effect on the environment.
The only exception to this rule is the fact that some people are jealous of Louis Vuitton items. I personally do not use my hard-sided suitcases on commerical flights. This is a sad reflection of society today.
In this disposable age in which we live it is often not worth repairing an item as the repair cost far exceeds the items price. This is not the case with Louis Vuitton items.
